This class is part of a larger women’s wellness series. Join us for a discussion on herbs to support a wide range of topics associated with women’s health. This will include herbs that support innate vitality, uplift and support the nervous system, help our bodies adapt to stress, provide deep nourishment and support natural hormone regulation through all life stages. Herbal Tea and Infusions

This is a hands-on class exploring herbal tea and other water-based herbal medicine preparations. We will look at several ways to prepare herbs for tea, and discuss which herbs are most appropriate for different preparations and applications. Participants will make their own tea blend to take home, and receive recipes and resources as well.

Seasonal Herbalism - Spring Herbs

Join us for a discussion on herbs for wellness support as we move through the seasons. This class will highlight herbs for Spring, and will include an introduction to herbal energetics, with a focus on cleansing and energizing herbs. Class participants will learn about herbal preparations, actions, applications, and will receive recipes and resources to take home.

The Herbal First Aid Kit
Saturday, May 10th. 10am-Noon.
Wild Arts Learning Center. Springfield, Missouri. $65
Learn how to use herbs in a first aid setting. We will discuss an herbal approach to wound care, including herbal preparations, actions, applications and safety considerations. Participants will learn how to build an herbal first aid kit to suit their specific needs and will go home with a few foundational herbal first aid items, as well as additional resources and recipes.

Herbal Support for Digestion
Saturday, May 17th. 10am-Noon
Finley Farms. Ozark, Missouri. $30
Join us for a discussion on herbs, digestion and the connection between digestive health and mental health. We will explore how improving digestion can improve overall mood, and look at herbs to support digestion, absorption and various other digestive difficulties. While dietary changes can be important for gut health, this class will primarily focus on non-food changes and tools. Herbal tea will be provided.

Seasonal Herbalism - Herbs for Summer Wellness

The Medicinal Herb Garden

Join us for a plant walk in the gardens at Finley Farms, to learn about different medicinal herbs that can be grown in your home garden. Participants will have the opportunity to see how different plants grow, discuss different growing techniques, how to harvest various parts of the plant, and will receive resources to take home.

This class will provide an introduction into which herbs and herbal preparations to choose for acute and chronic respiratory issues, how to build a strong respiratory system, manage symptoms and support your body in quick recovery. Intro to Herbal Medicine
Saturday, November 8th. 10am-Noon

Join us for a discussion on the foundational aspects of herbal medicine. Looking at the bigger questions of Why we use herbs in the first place and How do they work, along with a discussion of the different types of herbal traditions and the importance of a holistic approach. We will explore herbal energetics, actions and preparations (tea versus tincture, etc) and discuss when to choose which type, as well as safety considerations. Our hope is that you leave this class with the knowledge and confidence to integrate herbs into your daily life. Herbal tea will be provided.

Fire Cider!
Sunday, December 7th. 10am-Noon
Finley Farms. Ozark, Missouri. $40
Fire Cider is an herbal tonic used for generations to support digestion, immune function and respiratory wellness. It is made by infusing apple cider vinegar and honey with warming veggies and herbs such as garlic, onions, ginger, peppers, turmeric, horseradish, citrus, and more. We will discuss the history of fire cider, the medicinal benefits of each ingredient, and explore ways to get creative and customize your own recipe. Every participant will make their own personalized batch of fire cider to take home, just in time for the winter cold and flu season. All materials are included, and herbal tea will be provided.
